Misamis Occidental Candidate is Miss NMRAA 2015


The Miss NMRAA 2015 was truly a night of talent and beauty. The search took place on December 16, 2015 at the Provincial Cultural and Farmers’ Training Center. A total of 14 beautiful candidates from the different divisions of Region 10 vied for the crown. They were judged according to the following categories: Festival Attire, Sportswear Competition, Preliminary Question and Answer Portion, Evening Gown, and Final Question and Answer Portion.

In her welcome message, Provincial Vice-Governor Aurora Virginia M. Almonte quoted a saying from author Chantel Giamanco, “Being in a pageant is not just about beauty. It’s more about being a role model and an inspiration of excellence and in making a difference.” She stressed that it is about being proud of their respective provinces and cities and what they put into it.


Glezeal Macalisang, representative of the Misamis Occidental Division, brought home the crown being Miss NMRAA 2015. Also included in the top 5 finalists were 1st Runner Up Marmielyn Villanueva from Oroquieta City Division, 2nd Runner Up Louise Andrea Wong from Ozamiz City Division, 3rd Runner Up Aikka Paula Comaingking from Bukidnon Division, and 4th Runner Up Einee Shaine Erquita from Tangub City Division.

Macalisang also won some major awards, such as, Best in Sportswear, Best in Production Number, and Best in Long Gown. Being the reigning Ms. NMRAA, she would serve as the ambassadress of the said Regional Athletic Association to related programs and activities.

It can be recalled that Macalisang also represented the Municipality of Plaridel in the Search for Pas’ungko Festival Queen 2015 held last November 6, 2015 and was chosen 3rd runner-up.
