SP holds Signing Ceremony of the Revised Environment Code of Misamis Occidental

The signing ceremony of Ordinance No. 22-16, also known as “The Revised Environment Code of Misamis Occidental”, took place at the New Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Capitol Building, Oroquieta City last June 9, 2016. The Office of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan facilitated the said event which was attended by Hon. Herminia M. Ramiro, the Provincial Governor, Hon. Aurora Virginia M. Almonte, the Provincial Vice-Governor who also acted as the Presiding Officer, the Members of the Sanggunian headed by the Chairperson of the Committee on Natural Resources, Environment, and Ecology, Hon. Lovely Liezl B. Yape, and the Technical Working Group members.


The signing ceremony solemnly commenced with an invocation led by Ms. Cherry S. Clarin, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. It then proceeded with an opening remarks delivered by the Vice-Chairperson of the Committee, Hon. Simplicia O. Neri. Furthermore, Hon. Lovely Liezl B. Yape, emotionally expressed her earnest gratitude to all the members of the committee and to the Technical Working Group (TWG) for the full support and effort in making the said ordinance feasible.

The Vice-Governor of the Province of Misamis Occidental, Hon. Aurora Virginia M. Almonte, also delivered her Message of Solidarity along with the presentation of The Revised Environment Code of Misamis Occidental. In her message, she emphasized the significance of taking care of the natural treasures of the province, especially its main jewel, the Mount Malindang and its wildlife, as it helps lengthen the survival of the future generation. Thereafter, the momentous signing of the said ordinance was spearheaded by the Lady Governor Herminia M. Ramiro and the Provincial Vice-Governor Aurora Virginia M. Almonte while being accompanied with the singing of the song “Kapaligiran”, sang by Goldie Briones with the Kuyamis Band.

Following of which was the delivery of the Message of Acceptance and Manifestation of Support by the Provincial Governor. In response, the members of the Technical Working Group also conveyed their Expression of Aspiration, specifically coming from Dr. Nelson T. Cuaresma of Coastline IT Philippines and retired Judge Hon. Bernadette P. Encinareal of Regional Trial Court, Branch 12, Green Court.

The signing ceremony successfully concluded with the mass singing of Himig Piglas’ song entitled “Kinaiyahan”.
